Best Temperature For Keeping Worms In Buckets:

Africans need to be kept between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Below 10C they will die.
Above 30C they will suffer and start to die.

For monitoring worm bins or compost heaps, see my BLOG post:
https://thewormman.com.au/temperature/

DIGITAL LCD Aquarium Thermometer

Designed to be used to monitor an aquarium, these LCD digital thermometers are great for also monitoring the temperature in a worm farm or compost heap, or to monitor the temperature of Bait Worm buckets (the LCD end has to be kept dry, so if the farm is outside, please remove the thermometer when not in use.)

For monitoring worm buckets, fix the probe to the outside of the bucket with a piece of sticky tape so it does not interfere with opening and closing the bucket.

Description, LCD Digital (contains button batteries):

– Cable approx. 80cm
– Unit Size: 50mm x 30mm x 15mm approx.
– Display Range: -50°C ~ +70°C
– Display Resolution: 0.1°C
– 2 x LR44 button batteries included (lasting about 6 months in my units)
I have used LCD units like these for several years in my monitoring panel.
I find them totally reliable (mine are about 4 years old as of 2021) and accurate to within about one degree of each other. I check them against larger more expensive electronic units and other mercury type units that I use.
As stated, the batteries last about 6 months for me.
