Kids Activity – Worm Dance Party
Make-and-Take Dancing Worm Craft Activity for Early Learners, Schools, OSHC, Festivals & Events
Get ready for a wiggly, wormy, crafty good time!
Worm Dance Party is a hands-on make-and-take activity where children create their own dancing worm and decorated cup before bringing their creation to life through movement and play.
Using colourful materials, inspiration sheets, and their imagination, children design a unique dancing worm character before placing it into its special cup “stage” to watch it wiggle, dance, and entertain.
Along the way, they discover fascinating facts about worms, composting, and the important role these amazing creatures play in helping the environment.
Every child takes home their dancing worm creation to continue the fun long after the activity has finished – and to start conversations at home.

What every incursion includes

Every session is presented by Brian “The Worm Man” Donaldson and includes all materials, equipment, and resources required for the activity.
Children enjoy much more than a simple craft session. They have the opportunity to see live composting worms, worm eggs, and beneficial composting bugs up close, helping them connect their activity to the real world of worms and soil ecosystems.
Using storytelling, large visual displays, fascinating facts, and interactive discussions, Brian teaches children about worms, composting, waste reduction, and how small actions can make a big difference for the environment.
Activities are designed to make science, sustainability, and nature fun, engaging, and memorable through a combination of creativity, hands-on participation, movement, and discovery.
Programs can be adapted to suit different ages, learning levels, and group sizes. Schools and learning centres also receive printed educator resources on the day to help extend the learning beyond the session.
Educational Value
Worm Dance Party combines creativity, movement, and environmental education in a format that is highly engaging for young learners.
Through hands-on crafting and interactive demonstrations, children learn that worms are living creatures with an important role in nature. They discover how worm farms help recycle food scraps, reduce waste sent to landfill, and create healthy soil for plants to grow.
The activity supports early science learning while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and positive environmental behaviours.
