“Make A Pet Grass Head” – Kids Entertainment Or Activity
Kids make a neat, low maintenance pet, with alfalfa sprout hair they can actually eat !
Make your own unique pet “grass head“. Design your own face on the cup, using examples of eyes, noses, mouths & other designs. Then add some feet if you like.
Fill the cup with soil. Plant the seeds for it’s hair and watch the hair grow on your new pet over time. Water the cup lightly with a spray bottle. Make sure you give your new pet a name. At home, keep your pet watered lightly.
Trim the edible hair and put it on your lunch sandwich or salad.
Note: We use plant based cups which are made with plant based plastic lining and sustainable paper.
They are “Biocups” from BioPak. They are commercially compostable and carbon neutral (*source BioPak website 12/2019)
This make-and-take activity can be offered as a stand alone activity, or paired with another activity.
We could pair this activity with another minor activity such as:
- We bring worms & composting into the activity by letting the kids “Dig & Discover” in active worm farm material.
- We bring a Nature Discovery tray with magnifiers.
- One of the other set activities that we offer.
