Hi Brian, I have been reading your \\\’Wedge\\\’ information and I have a few questions which I hope you can help me with. When starting the Wedge safe bedding I plan on using 50L of pre-prepared ready vermicast, dried leaf litter and aged grass clippings, but how old is well aged grass clippings? I am under the impression it is around 4 weeks pre-composted. Do you think this is correct?  How many litres should the leaf litter be compared to the grass clippings? I plan on using a combination of the following feedstock – any advice this please Grass clippings, leaves, corrugated cardboard, coffee grounds, kitchen scraps Very interesting reading – thanks Claire

Hi Claire

Grass clippings is a very variable input – it takes longer to reach “well aged” condition if it is greener or the weather is cold.

On average I’d say 4 to 6 weeks.

I’d use twice as much leaf litter (or another carbon like cardboard) as grass if you have access to it.

Thanks for asking your question and thanks for your purchase of The WEDGE E-book (http://www.thewormman.com.au/wedge)

Regards
Brian
