Feeding Station and Heavy Rainfall

Alison asked 3 years ago

Hi Brian,
In your video you mentioned making sure that the bedding wasn’t too moist in the trays. I am thinking about using a feeding station in my veggie garden rather than the trays and I am wondering what happens to the worms when rain is torrential? During winter in SA it is typically very wet and cold and can rain constantly for a week at a time, are the worms going to survive in the garden where they can’t escape the water? Would I be better off using a tray form or worm farm?
Thanks so much

Hi Alison
Yes, it is best placed in situations where groundwater does not lay around the farm for extended periods.
In saying that, ours is not in the best spot and sometimes gets flooded but the worms seem to rebound OK.
Thanks for your question
