Overview:

Growing “Bait Worms” For Fishing Or Pet Feeding, With Brian The Worm Man

Raising worms to bait size is not a simple or one step process.   You may have tried before and failed.    You may have tried to raise normal composting worms and failed.   The first step in this process is to be able to raise “composting worms.”   I teach this professionally at many Workshops.   Then you need to know the extra steps required for fattening worms to size and maintaining a breeding colony.   I teach and show you all of the steps.

Of course, if you want to make this into a business, or grow worms at scale, this course will be a good starting point for you, especially if you have little or no experience in raising worms.   Then you can grow it into a larger output over time; and if you need help, you can hire me to help you.

Who/What Is This Course For?

  • For people with little to no experience raising worms…..
  • This course will teach you a method to raise “bait sized” African Night Crawlers – for home use – a large worm used widely for fishing and pet feeding. I am teaching a method that is very similar to how I raise these worms to sell.

Timing / Length:

The Workshop runs for about (TBC) hours, depending on questions from the students.

Description: Raising Bait Worms At Home – For Fishing Or Pet Feeding

Briefly, What Is Included?

This course has two parts:

  • Part 1 – Raising Composting Worms – the first step in the process, but often hard for new people.
  • Part 2 – Fattening Africans To Bait Size – the step often misunderstood.

It includes:

  • Virtual Students’ Resources (via password access) – printable/viewable PDF’s (a computer document) of info sheets for all the processes taught. Available for you forever, as long as you don’t share the password to others.
  • I show you examples of simple types of worm farms you could make at home if you want to
  • Or buy one of the special packs I have designed for students (details below) – or buy from Collingwood Park after the Workshop.
  • Face-To-Face Only: we will bring along examples of our systems at different stages to show you what you are looking for at each stage.
  • An overview of the common problems faced by the worm farmer and their solutions.
  • An overview of the other popular system for raising worms, the Cocoon Breeding System. (I don’t teach you the Cocoon Breeding System, but I can refer you to a course after you complete my course, if you wish.)

What IS NOT Included?

Business ventures/growing at scale not included:

  • This course is designed for teaching people to raise “bait worms” for use at home. Once it becomes a business, or you want to scale up – like to supply a bait shop or as a part time business – a lot of things would have to change. I can help you with this transition, but it is not included in this course.
  • If you are making this a business, you may like to have a Private Workshop, either in place of this course, or in addition to this course to refine any parts that need it. You can also pay for my hourly help – details at TheWormMan.com.au/hourly
  • I don’t teach you the Cocoon Breeding System, but I give an overview of it and what I believe are it’s limitations for small scale farming – and I can refer you to a course after you complete my course, if you wish.

Personal/private help after the course – not included.

Of necessity, I have to charge for the time I spend, as this is my “job”.

  • Just like after doing a TAFE course – you don’t get personal access included to your trainer after the course finishes.
  • The course is professionally delivered by someone qualified to teach (me) and experienced in raising worms.  It contains all of the information you should need to succeed, but you may not be instantly successful – this is not a golden turn-key kind of thing, there are lessons to learn by experience etc. – this is DEFINITELY not a sure-thing money making scheme and some people WILL fail a few times while learning.
  • If you have any questions about clearing up the content of supplied information, that is fine – and I’d like to know, so I can improve the supplied information in future.
  • An option, especially if you are making this a business, is to pay for my hourly help after the course – details at TheWormMan.com.au/hourly
  • Please ask me for help and I will see what I can do for you.

Cancellation Due To COVID Lockdown:

In the case of a government mandated lockdown, where the event is not allowed to go ahead by law, students will be offered a refund or to transfer their ticket and complete the workshop on new date to be published afterwards.
