Brian,
Hello from the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, VA ! I would like some information on the cost to build the continuous flow through system. I am working on a grant to make some improvements to our farm garden and think this would be a great addition to the area. We have a large covered barn with open space where this would fit nicely. We would want to customize with a plexiglass panel so visitors can see. What are your thoughts?
Hi Angela,
I went and added up the list of materials on the plans. Theres a full cutting list included with them.
For the main framing, if you arent going to “rip” any wood to conserve wood, theres about 92 lineal feet of 4 x 2 used. Theres a few little bits extra.
For the ply, I use 1/2 inch ply – and used approx:
1 x 48″ x 36″
1 x 45″ x 26″
1 x 45″ x 42″
2 x 32″ x 42″
You could DEFINITELY incorporate a plexiglass panel in the front section – that’s a neat idea.
