worms for gardening

Pam asked 6 years ago

Hi Brian -Over the years,  I have  had great success with my compost bin and ordinary worms which have access to the garden. Someone gave me a 4 tiered plastic worm farm and insisted on tiger worms which I purchased from Bunnings. The worms have died. The set up seemed a bit claustrophobic to me, so am considering keeping the lid off, but the covering moist. Never failed with worms before! I also give them the right amount of food. Help!

Hi Pam,

It’s quite common to have problems with composting worms, don;t feel bad.

Yes, I agree, the little plastic farms make it even harder.

You’ll have to do a little reading, or if you’re in Brisbane, I’m doing workshops. Go back to basics, see what you may have missed understanding.

If you like that and want more info like it, my Big Book Of Answers is the go – youll see it in the left column here on the site, or in the Worm Info Store:
